Welcome to the Strategic Development Landscape, our new 2030 strategy.
The Strategic Development Landscape gives us the flexibility to navigate an unpredictable world. Climate change and global instability call for a strategy where our direction can be adjusted so that we can anticipate and respond to change while ensuring a resilient water supply.
Aarhus Vand’s Development Landscape consists of a vision and a set of promises. In addition, it includes development areas that are adjusted annually. The Development Landscape enables us to continuously capture learning and adapt our direction, ensuring that it remains relevant over time.
Publication on The Strategic Development Landscape
We create health by providing clean water – to people and the planet.
Our vision is to make the water cycle in Aarhus more resilient by establishing regenerative solutions that benefit people, nature and business – now and for future generations.
We make it easy to be a customer and use water responsibly.
We improve the water cycle throough solutions inspired by nature.
We develop water solutions for the future through the succesful establishment of Aarhus ReWater and other lighthouse projects.
We share Danish solutions with the world and bring new knowledge back home.
We invest in strengthening our colleagues’ communities, personal development, and engagement.
Within our Development Landscape towards 2030, we have identified a number of strategic development areas. These areas are designed to increase our room for manoeuvre in a rapidly changing world, enable us to focus on what creates the greatest value, and strengthen employee engagement.
The objectives for the development areas in 2026 and 2030 are as follows:
2026:
A fully developed crisis preparedness plan for power, telecommunications, and cyber outages, aligned with key stakeholders.

Operating a robust organisation with completed investments. Aarhus Vand meets its service-level targets for crisis preparedness.
2026:
An implementation plan for the establishment of water and nature parks towards 2035.
